Blissful gloom

I wore this attire the other day when I walked along the river for a bit. It was a sort of gloomy but pleasant day and I went to a cafe and had green tea and a pastry. I wore this new jumper from topshop which has a satiny chiffon layer over the top of the front knit and it adds the coolest texture to your outfit. I paired it with my vintage belt and a skirt I bought in New York. It's actually the first proper time I'm wearing this skirt because it's a sort of weird shape to style. My patterned tights, which you may not be able to see, are probably from M&S but I don't really know. I'm also 3 weeks away from Christmas Holidays which is truly exciting but I have a lot of things to do before then. Ah but I can't wait until I can sleep in and have no school deadlines to worry about!

Fashion Parade at Asia House

As a follow up of my last post, I will be reviewing the second runway show held at Asia House in London. This one was called the Fashion Parade and had pieces from a variety of Pakistan designers. It was a very cool event with some great designs and little cupcakes with FP on them. Here are some of my favourite outfits from the show.

These first few looks were designed by Nomi Ansari who I actually spoke to after the show. His designs were so bold, colourful and orginal. They were a little crazy but so fun, I especially love the pom pom tights!

This last one again by Nomi Ansari I really loved. It has this sort of pirate meets '60s vibe with the eyepatch and the pop art dress.

I love this take on a high-low dress. It is so flowy and beautiful.

HR was the brand of this outfit and these ones were so modern. They encourperated plastic, cut outs and even a nose ring at one point. They also had amazingly detailed shoes.

This stunning dress and head crown was designed by Sara Rohale Asghar.

This sweepy, sparkly dress was so pretty. It would be amazing as a super elegant beach cover up.

Finally, this blue gown had the most gorgeous back cutout, which modernised the traditional design.

Here is a photo of me and my dad at the event courtesy of Asia House. My jumper and skirt are both from H&M.

Which outfit is your favourite?

Strand of Silk fashion show at Asia House

Hello all! Last night I went to the Strand of Silk fashion show at Asia House in London. The event had such great energy and I even met a fellow blogger there who I will talk about in another post soon. The show was all about taking traditional Indian embroidery and lace, and pairing it with more modern silhouettes. The jewellery was all from Diagold, and was simply exquisite. Here are some of my favourite outfits from the show.

I really like this take on a modern jumpsuit, covering with pretty embroidery and pearls.

The above is one of my favourites. The white dress is very elegant and the statement jacket is a nice addition to the silver ensemble.

These red dresses are so pretty and I particularly like the one with the red and orange skirt. It reminds me of a flame.

This is the jewellery designer saying: 'I believe every woman should wear jewellery'.

Some of the pieces shown in a pre-show exhibition.

Here is a photo of me at the show courtesy of Asia House. My Kimono is from TK Maxx, leather skirt is vintage and plain black T-shirt from M&S.

You can check out Strand of Silk's clothes HERE. I had a lovely night filled with fashion and macaroons. Which design is your favourite?

Daisy days

I was in Cambridge again a few Saturdays ago and I wore my new Zara green coat. I know these coats have been so over-hyped and everyone has them but I couldn't resist. I think this one is a bit more original as it has red zip detailing and a slightly smarter A-line cut to it. It can be dressed up and down and the thick lining is removable, along with the fur around the hood. It's so versatile as you can play with the different zips and parts to create a look you want. I'm definitely going to live in this in the Winter. I paired it with my car bootsale playsuit and added some black tights and boots to keep me warm. This trip I had a look at some of the colleges and also ate an amazing brownie at Jamie's restaurant.

Playsuit - Car bootsale but originally Primark
Tights - M&S
Boots - Gap
Cardigan - Brandy Melville
Coat - Zara

There were such pretty Autumn leaves everywhere; I'm feeling festive!

Fireworks

Happy Guy Fawks night! I went to a firework party on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. I met some new people and we sat on the roof to watch the fireworks, took interesting photos and talked about our favourite artists. A friend lent me her tripod so I could take some  slow shutter speed photos of the fireworks. They turned out beautifully, especially with the sparklers! Today I'm going to show you all of my favourite photos and also the outfit I wore.

Spelling out 'BANG'

Shapes & Signitures

Lots of lines

Spelling out 'LOVE YOU'

This one reminds me of the Arctic Monkeys new Album cover art

This one reminds me of a Dandelion

Probably the best picture I took

Aren't they cool? I am definitely going to experiment with this kind of stuff more often. Here is the outfit I wore to the party.

I wore this new dress with mesh & polka dot cut outs. The little dots are made out of velvet and I really like the way this dress fits.

Dress - H&M

Did any of you do anything for Guy Fawks night?

My dressing table

I'm currently redecorating my bedroom and yesterday my new dressing table came! This post is going to be a little tour of my trinkets. Thinking about it, it's a pretty vain thing to have; a whole table to make yourself look good. But that's not what it's for really, it just ties my whole room together and adds to the fun process of completing a look with makeup, accessories etc. Anyway, the table, stool and mirror are all from the Dahlia range at Laura Ashley.

Doll, Perfume, Copper bowl I made at school containing my rings.

Next candle holder, Bath & Body works frosted cupcake candle.

Retro lamp & bracelet stand were gifts.

Swedish glass pot.

Self painted brush mug, DIY jewellery holder see this post.

Zara handles.

The inside of my draw divided into makeup and accessories.

What do you think? I am really happy with how it looks in my room. It's also really nice to work on. I probably won't do school work on it but it'll be great for journaling, collaging etc.

much love
