Meeting an internet friend in real life has to be one of the weirdest experiences I have ever had. Reading someone's blog every week, and emailing them about your life and theirs forms a personal connection. You feel like you know them, and would classify them as a friend. But then when you actually meet them in real life, it's simultaneously like meeting a brand new person. Earlier this week, I met up with Mattie, who I've been talking to for over a year now. It was so odd to see Mattie actually moving and talking considering up until now I'd only ever seen her in her blog pictures. We both were in a state of giddy shock and agreed how weird it is to meet someone you befriended online.
Bag - Kanken
Top - Primark
Skirt - Vintage @ Rokit
Trench Coat - Burberry (via a Car Boot Sale)
Shoes - Boohoo
This fancy trench was found at a car boot sale last week for £10. It's a real gem, and makes me feel like a detective in the '60s, which is always a good thing. My denim skirt has become a real wardrobe staple now that it's summer. It goes with pretty much everything.
Mattie and I had a lovely day wandering the quirky back streets of Covent Garden and eating photogenic Shake Shack burgers. If you're hesitant about meeting a penpal or blogger friend, I say go for it. Do your research first and make sure they are genuine (catfish is a thing). But then take the leap.
Mattie has a killer style blog, red hair and the best taste in music. Check her out HERE.
