To kick off London Fashion Week, I headed to see the Joanne Stoker presentation held in a furniture store just off Denmark street. The collection was inspired by the eighties with shoes to fit the strong women of the era.
The models wore bright eyeshadow and shoulder pads, making me feel like I'd just walked into The Carrie Diaries. It was fabulous.
You can see traces of Stoker's influences such as Yaacov Agam, Memphis design and Luis Barragan in the bright geometric shapes throughout the collection.
I tend to be pretty boring with my shoe choices (I own four pairs of black ankle boots) so I felt incredibly inspired by the innovative shapes and prints of the collection.
I loved the playful colour combinations and use of texture which created a happy and inviting vibe.
The use of the space was fantastic, with shelves and chairs to complement the shoes and accesories.
The pale blue boots pictured above were my favourite, especially the laces and the chunky heel. Stoker created a lovely collection for SS16, proving that being a strong woman in the '80s didn't coincide with being masculine.
