The Staple Sundress

The staple sundress. Maybe you found it at a street stall, or a French supermarket, or maybe it was your sister's when she was your age. It's easy to wear, it's comfortable. It's never quite like what you see on the high street, and that's what makes it special.

I found this year's in a Turkish linen store, the same place I bought my white pinafore last year. I love buying white dresses when I'm abroad. Whether it's markets or little cotton boutiques, I always find something that feels well-made. When I return to the city and find white difficult to wear, I pick up some dye and end up with a brand new piece to style. I dyed a white dress (from this old blog post) navy and it has become my go-to for hot London days.

Have you got a staple sundress? Where did you get it?
