My style is constantly changing. Different places inspire different colour palettes, moods, silhouettes. Recently I've been drawn to pink and more feminine pieces, something I would have stayed away from a few years ago. I found this dress at Zara at the beginning of the Summer and it's an effortless statement. Plus, it matched perfectly with the pink flowers of KaÅŸ, Turkey, where these photos were taken.

interior inspiration
Monday, 2 September 2019
While I've always been interested in style, I never really cared for interiors. My childhood bedroom was more a collection of my things, an evolving museum of my life, rather than a curated space. When I moved into halls for university last year, I avoided the classic pre-uni ikea trip, and brought whatever I had leftover from my room at home. I could never really be bothered to actually design my room.
Only now that I've started renting a flat with two friends for my second year have I started thinking about interior inspiration. I've been screenshotting dreamy spaces on instagram, taking pictures of places across my travels and collecting a fruitful pinterest board of ideas.
Here are some of my favourite finds.
The above pictures are actually of the villa I'm currently staying in in Turkey. The minimalism is striking and the view of the ocean is unbelievable.
A white fluffy carpet and oranges and yellows - ultimate '70s decor.
An amazing Brunch place in Barbados called Bliss. I love the greenery throughout the space along with the warm tones.

old hollywood glam
Monday, 26 August 2019
I can't quite get over university summers - they feel endless. Especially the way humanities courses are structured, I've been on holiday for what feels like forever. Having done an internship, flat-hunting for uni housing next year and taking driving lessons, I've been productive, as well as spending time travelling and relaxing.
I'm currently on my final stretch of sunshine on a family holiday in Turkey. I'm feeling very relaxed and present. Equally I can't wait for uni to start again in September and to move into my new place. Life is good.
This has been one of my favourite outfits of Summer. It has notes of Old Hollywood and Grace Kelly, one of my ultimate muses as an avid fan of '30s and '40s films. The one shoulder bodysuit paired with the wide leg trousers feels young but elegant.

Characters of KaÅŸ
Sunday, 10 September 2017
There is an endless list of things I love about travelling. Seeing new cultures, beautiful scenery, food, and adventure. But my favourite will always be meeting new people. Even if you only know them for a moment - a short conversation or perhaps a glance across a room. That small insight into a world so different to your own can be inspiring. A window into a life - a story. The waitress with a perpetual smile and contagious warmth, the man who spends his evenings welding jewellery, the woman in the shop with the colourful dresses.
KaÅŸ is a vibrant town filled with interesting characters. Today I'm sharing with you a series of portraits of some of the people I met during my Summer stay in Turkey.

The Staple Sundress
Friday, 1 September 2017
The staple sundress. Maybe you found it at a street stall, or a French supermarket, or maybe it was your sister's when she was your age. It's easy to wear, it's comfortable. It's never quite like what you see on the high street, and that's what makes it special.
The Cutest Restaurant in KaÅŸ
Tuesday, 29 August 2017
Having spent last Summer in KaÅŸ, my family and I returned to the charming seaside town in Turkey with a good idea of which spots were the best. We knew our favourite restaurants, and if I'm honest, were a little tired of going to the same places.
Wandering a street off the main road one night, we stumbled across Pell's and our holiday eating took a new turn. With candles and crystals at the door, and a roof of lemon trees draping over the tables, I was immediately drawn inside. We were served by probably the loveliest and smiley-est waitress I've ever met, there was great music and eclectic bohemian decor; the atmosphere was right up my street.
I don't claim to know a lot about food, and it's not something I usually blog about. However I will say that it was the best and most original food I've had in KaÅŸ. There was a lot of rosemary, dried orange slices and nuts as garnishes - very hipster and very tasty.

Bringing Back the Basket
Thursday, 24 August 2017
I hinted on my twitter earlier this month that August would mark some changes to this blog. The major one is now complete - Lexi Likes has a brand new design. I'm very pleased with it and I'm hoping it will reflect the new breed of content I'm starting to produce. Thank you for all of your feedback thus far, I'm so happy you like it too. Here's to a new chapter!
Today I'm sharing another Summer outfit shot in Kas, Turkey. Kas has a wonderful bohemian, chill vibe. It's not a town for dressing up, and I've loved being able to throw on a sundress and some flip-flops every night. Although I'm excited about dressing for Autumn, I am definitely going to miss the ease of Summer evenings.
Another Day of Sun
Thursday, 17 August 2017
After spending the first half of my summer working at an amazing summer job, I'm finally getting some sunshine and a holiday. My days now are largely spent by the sea (which is a happy place of mine), but it's not quite as relaxing as I'd hoped. My final year of school is looming frightfully near, as is the storm of university applications and A-levels. I'm trying to establish a balance of doing things to make the next few months easier and also savouring my last days of peace.
SWIMMING WITH TURTLES IN TURKEY
Friday, 9 September 2016
The highlight of our family holiday in Turkey was a boat trip around the coast of Kas. We hired the boat of Captain Ergun and his lovely wife Merve. They were such lovely people, and made the experience even better. Merve cooked an incredible Turkish meal for lunch, which was probably the best food I we ate all holiday. To top it all off, at our final stop we saw and swam with turtles, which was incredible. See our day in my video below, or click HERE.

Tales from Turkey
Friday, 2 September 2016
The final chapter of my summer was my trip to KaÅŸ, Turkey with my family.
It was largely filled with lazy days at our villa overlooking the ocean, ending each night with dinner in the town, and an episode of Stranger Things. Now that I'm back at school and reflecting on our time in the sun, it all seems like a daydream - beautiful, hazy, and fleeting.
Maybe it's the fact that half of my DNA is from my Australian father, but I love the sea. I'm sure many have this affection for the beach, but I really love the sea. It sounds pretty cheesy, but I feel very at peace with myself by the water. The fact that we had a winding path from our house leading down to a private pier on the waterfront was incredible, and I'm so grateful. The water was at times almost artificially blue, littered with masses of tiny silver fish which were like darts shooting past you.
Kas as a town was vibrant and welcoming. The area by the pier was pretty touristy, but dotted through side streets and passageways there was a real sense of home. Hand crafted leather goods, silver jewellery stores like caves of treasure and memorable independent businesses. Cats and dogs seemed to wander aimlessly throughout and contrasting motorbikes roared past you with fierce purpose and little care. It was colourful, non-threatening and authentic.
The sky was always worth looking at - sunrises with warmth, sunsets with clarity, and a full moon which illuminated the water so beautifully I was unable to capture it.
