Divergent tag - video

Latest video is up on my Youtube! I filmed the Divergent tag since I loved the book so much. I actually read about 40 pages, then left it for a week. However I picked it up yesterday and finished it in that one day and barely put it down. At first I thought it was quite an average dystopia and similar to a lot of things I've read before but I eventually fell for it and became really attached to the characters. I recommend it to any of you looking for a (fairly light) teen book. It has a great story to it but a little romance enter twined (hence the teen popularity). I plan on reading the other two books in the series next and maybe doing a fashion video/post about inspired looks? Here is the video, as usual if you are reading through an app or an email you will have to click HERE to see and I'd love you to subscribe whilst you're at it!

Side note: how cool are these knee socks I picked up from Calzedonia? They remind me of what a Dauntless might wear in the book!

Have you read Divergent?

  1. I love this video! I was really not happy with the casting of Four either at first, but I think in the movie he's such a dominating actor (if you've seen it you'll get what I mean) and he's got such a powerful, sometimes smothering demeanour and presence, which is exactly how I imagined Four to be. I was really unhappy about Kristina/Christina (I can't even remember how you spell her name I read the book so long ago) - I loved her in the book and although I know she's supposed to be sarcastic and quick and everything, but I read it as her being endearingly so but her portrayal in the film I felt was quite sly and cold, almost - I didn't warm to her at all. Will was perfect though! I get what you mean about Abnegation - I got Dauntless and Candor too! I'd be lying if I said that the clothes in Dauntless didn't appeal to me too haha! xxox

    1. Thank you I'm glad you liked it! Oh yeah I pictured him like that too but I haven't seen the movie yet. Yes I imagined her to be warm and friendly but still quite sharp and quick witted. Ah we're so alike! Omg yeah I would love to be a punk all the time. Will let you know what I think of the movie! xo

  3. I've read the series and thought it was amazing, be prepared for more shock though. And as for the movie I'm still debating seeing it as I'm worried of it not being as good I'd hoped it to be (if that makes any sense). Also, I love the knee socks! :)

  4. I really enjoyed the first Divergent novel but had a hard time getting through the second (now i know i must finish it). I though Abnegation seemed very depressing and too self giving ( i do love grey tho) I thougt id be Dauntless or Divergent. I though the ending of the first book was kinda meh (boy over family...?) i did like the train part though. Such a bad ass female leaded book that ill probably tell my grandchildren about. great video.

    1. Thank you! Yes I know the female lead is amazing and so empowering. Yeah I thought Abnegation was just a bit too extreme for me. I'm reading the second now and I quite like it! xo

  5. I haven't read Divergent (the novel) as of yet and the movie hasn't even reached our shores. I'm always so scared of getting into things that are really popular and everywhere on the internet because they usually aren't worth the hype but now I really want to read it. I'm a bit of rebel and watched the rest of video because hearing you speak is so jarring yet fascinating. Like, you sound nothing like I imagined. You sound a lot better than I imagined actually.

    1. Yeah absolutely, a lot of the time I have really high expectations and I end up being disappointed but it wasn't the case with this book. Oh living life on the edge Khensani haha. Really? Thanks I guess haha. xo

  8. I loved Divergent! The film was so good, but I always find that the books are better than the films and this is no exception!! I think Shailene Woodley was the perfect choice of character. Just prepare yourself mentally for the end of the third book- you get quite a shock!
