Lately I've been channelling a new aesthetic phase which I like to call '90s Suburbia. It's result of my previously documented Dawson's Creek obsession. It's comprised of '90s denim, pale blue and grey tones, a short(er) haircut, white picket fences and suburban lakes. I've spent the week in Paris which has resulted in some gorgeous pictures of Lola and I, shot by Sky, which I think really capture the summery '90s vibe.

SUMMER READING
Saturday, 20 June 2015
As a post exam treat, I took the liberty of doing a therapeutic binge order on Amazon of books. I always read a lot in the Summer. New-found spare time and the constant commutes out and about means it just makes sense to read more. I just finished 1984, which was incredible and I've got a review of the play coming soon. I bought an eclectic mix with everything from classics to YA novels, a book on feminism and even a collectors item from my favourite TV show, Fringe. I will make sure to document my progress over the Summer and let you know my opinions on each!
CLOCKWISE FROM LEFT:
Death and The Penguin by Andrev Kurkov
I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak
The Opposite Of Loneliness by Marina Keegan
Touching the Void by Joe Simpson
We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder
Entwined by Heather Dixon
Fringe 'September's Notebook'
Fringe 'The Zodiac Paradox' by Christa Faust
Why We Took The Car by Wolfgang Herrndorf
My to-read list is ever-growing, so please do share your recommendations in the comments!

2 YEARS OF BLOGGING - What I've learnt
Tuesday, 16 June 2015
Today marks the second year since my first ever outfit post, which is where this blog truly began. I want to start this anniversary celebration by saying thank you. For reading, watching, commenting and (hopefully) enjoying my content, thank you! The blogging community is filled with such creative and insightful people and I find it amazing that I'm able to talk to you all everyday. I've made internet friends all over the world, but I have to give a special mention to my fellow teen bloggers who are the best people to turn to if you need a pen pal or fashion inspiration.
I also want to mention that this is only the beginning. It's been a great two years, but I plan to keep this up for a while. This blog has sort of become central to my existence, and we've got so much more to come.

To kick it off, I want to talk about honesty and integrity. Companies are always partnering with bloggers and this can create some amazing collaborations. Most companies will offer you something in return for content, but some want you to produce things for nothing. Although I'm all for building a portfolio of work, it's important not to be taken advantage of as a blogger - your content is worth something. Then there's the controversial matter of sponsorships and free products. I'll admit, when you're offered free things it's really tempting to accept. But I've learnt that being honest with your audience is absolutely key in terms of being a trustworthy author. I have turned down products which I'm not interested in, or don't think are good enough to post about because I work hard on this blog, and I want you to trust me. That doesn't mean I'm not open to 'free' things, but I think it's important to be selective about what you think is good and what is relevant to your blog.

I'm really pleased with the development of my content this year. Not only have I changed over these two years, but in turn this blog has too. I'm still very much interested in fashion, but I love how my content has been able to reach new areas, with everything from Do Kids Read Books Anymore? to The Romance of The Pre-Digital age. Although this blog began with outfit posts, I've now developed as a writer and content creator. I like writing about art, culture, current affairs as well as showing my outfits and photography. I've also developed a real passion for film making. My youtube channel is growing more and more every day, and I'm pretty proud of the last few vlog/short film style videos I've made. I know I have a lot to learn, and it's always a work in progress but I plan to keep trying, building and growing.
The opportunities I've had in the last year have been great. I attended fashion week, press days, exhibitions and more. This little space on the internet has opened a door for me to the world of creativity and journalism, and I can't wait for the future.
Thank you again, Lexi Likes readers. Here's to another great one.

The Color Run
Tuesday, 9 June 2015
The cumulative energy of thousands dancing to booming pop music was electric. The second the beat dropped, the sky exploded in colour. Vibrant powder filled the air, creating an enchanting cloud of pink, blue and yellow. This was the gleeful celebration of The Color Run.
I'm not a sporty person, but when my friend Julia suggested we run around Wembley Stadium whilst floating through clouds of colour, I couldn't resist.
We entered as a team - named 'Dye Me A River' - and went all out with face paint and glitter. Every kilometre, we were dosed in colourful powder and everyone was cheering and smiling. It had such a happy atmosphere.
By the end of it we were human rainbows. The best part was the Finish Festival. Sarah (left), Lily (right) and I went into the crowd and danced to cheesy pop music in anticipation of one of the famous 'colour throws'. You can see the magical outcome of this in my vlog below.
It was a great experience and The Color Run are partnered with NSPCC, so the money goes to a good cause! If you want to sign up to one near you, check out their website HERE.
#ColourMeHappy couldn't be more true.
