As a post exam treat, I took the liberty of doing a therapeutic binge order on Amazon of books. I always read a lot in the Summer. New-found spare time and the constant commutes out and about means it just makes sense to read more. I just finished 1984, which was incredible and I've got a review of the play coming soon. I bought an eclectic mix with everything from classics to YA novels, a book on feminism and even a collectors item from my favourite TV show, Fringe. I will make sure to document my progress over the Summer and let you know my opinions on each!

The title is some artsy stupid quote I found on Tumblr, but this outfit shoot is from the most beautiful forest in Martha's Vineyard so I thought it was appropriate. These trees were everywhere and the view from my bedroom window was always stunning.
Jacket - thrifted
Dress - DIY/customised
So this amazing denim bomber jacket was found in a Thrift shop on the island and it was so nice to throw on in the evenings. I love the red detailing, it gives a classic item such a nice twist. American thrift shops are one of my favourite things, and if you haven't yet seen my haul, watch at the end of this post or click HERE. The dress was originally white, long and my Mum's. But she handed it down to me and I decided to get a little creative. I tie dyed it with a subtle sky blue colour, so if you look closely it really does look like scattered clouds across the dress. I then had it hemmed at a cheap tailor to create this unique '60s mini!

Hello everyone! As I have previously hinted at/mentioned I have started my youtube channel! I just posted my first video which is a haul from my trip to Sweden a little while ago. Yesterday it was my birthday. I had the most wonderful day with many awkward, some enthusiastic and one Spanish serenade of Happy Birthday. I was also thrown an awesome lunch time surprise party which was basically a 6 year old's dream complete with musical chairs, statues and the high school musical soundtrack. My amazing friend's gave me cards and gifts and made me a birthday video too. Overall it was an amazing day and I want to thank everyone for making it so lovely!

As my present I got a new guitar and here are some pictures of it/buying it/with it. If any of you need one I seriously recommend going to Denmark street in central London. It has all the best guitar shops all on one little road. We went into all the different shops and tested out so many guitars until I found one I liked. I ended up buying it from Wunjo guitars and the people there were so nice and looked like they came straight out of the '60s. They also seemed really passionate when chatting to me about music, they didn't just want to make a sale.
For any of you curious, it's the make Guild and it's an acoustic that you can plug into an amp (so it's sort of electric too).

A very vintage weekend

Hey! I have spent the majority of this weekend working through the massive pile of homework I have left till the weekend and having weird skype calls with the human incarnate of Legolas. But I did meet up with a new friend on Saturday to go thrifting and again on Sunday to go to a car boot sale. It was a very vintage weekend.
I met up with Isla who just started a blog which you should all go check out HERE. We took outfit photos in the sun, went hunting through charity shops and ate ice cream. I wore my fab new monochrome tights which I picked up in Sweden and finally got an excuse to wear my favourite sunglasses.

This is the maxi skirt I found in a charity shop for £6 and it's originally from Asos. I have never been a floral gal and I think this is the only floral thing I own. I don't know they've just never appealed to me but the sun was out and I had Spring in my brain so I went for it.
This is Isla looking super cute in her retro sunnies, rose gold satchel and the new '80s looking necklace she bought in one of the charity shops.
Then on Sunday (today) we went to the car boot sale,
Isla bought this vintage tin which looks like it was from some old chocolate shop in Brussels. That's my favourite thing about old things, making up and thinking about the story behind them and where they came from.
One stall had this amazing scrapbook filled with pages and pages of old postcards and photographs.
I bought this oversized vintage shirt for £2. It was from a lady who sells vintage and old clothes from her travels in places like Italy and France so who knows where this came from. I think this will look really good with leggings and some heeled boots or over a bikini in the summer.
Finally, I bought this adorable glass tea cup which has the prettiest purple iridescence to it when it catches the light. It was part of a punch bowl set but I just bought one cup for £1 and I have put all my rings in it.
It was a lovely way to spend the weekend and nice to see some sun too. Make sure you check out Isla's blog!

Pure London Fashion trade show - Spirit catwalk (Part 3)

For the final part of my Pure show posts, I'm going to talk about my favourite looks from the Spirit catwalk. This one was divided into segments with different brands exhibiting at the show and therefore the clothes were aimed to be more wearable. I really love all of the outfits below and they all include some of my favourite trends right now.
I saw lots of two piece sets over the day and have made it my mission to track down this gorgeous yellow one.
Love the flamingo print of the kimono here!
This look was absolutely stunning, and gives off the perfect hard-meets-feminine vibe.
Two tone boots are fab.
I am desperate for a pair of holographic shoes so I had to show you this outfit. I also love the clear jacket.

This dress has a very '60s print and it is SO cool.
Rad vinyl skirt and MORE holographic shoes.
Lastly, here is a wonderful bracelet I was given in the Pure goodie bag from Cleric. I've never seen anything like it, it's so bright and eyecatching! I'm not usually a fan of neon but I really love this!

Hello all! I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas or a wonderful week if you don't celebrate it. Today I thought I would show you a few of my favourite goodies I recieved for Christmas.
Rookie yearbook two, The fashion book, Alexa Chung's IT, japanese bear tights, Howl's moving castle anime movie, The great gatsby, Mac lip gloss set & Japanese tin.
My brother bought me this super cute japanese tin which I LOVE.
I am so obsessed with these Kawaii bear tights and I have wanted them for SO long! I can't wait to style them in an outfit post for you all!
And finally, a cheeky mirror selfie to show you my main present, which is a new camera! It's the Nikon D3200. This means my outfit photos and other photography is going to improve majorly quality wise! I have already shot some photos for future posts and I can't wait to share them with you all. I am so grateful for everything I received. I would say I did my first proper post this Summer and Lexi Likes started this year, so I want to thank you all for reading and commenting!

Mini thrift haul

I scouted some local charity shops with my friend Alice and bought a few thrifted goodies to show you all! I found all of these things at cancer research.
I found this art wooden man really cheaply and I was very pleased as these are usually quite pricey and it will help with my drawings.
Next are these shorts! Oh my my do I love these. I have a little hatred for denim summer shorts and tights and I think it is hard to get that look right. These I like because they are WINTER shorts! Yay! They are woolen and so cute.
Finally are these little gold rings. They are little scrabble tiles and I wanted the L one but they came in a set and spell love. I probably will only wear the plain one and the L one but they are still pretty.

Bonjour Lexingtons!
Recently I was in Sweden for a few days and I did a small amount of shopping. I thought I would show you what I bought because Sweden has amazing design. I will be doing a Lexi's travel's about my trip but I'm a bit behind at the moment on my travel posts and I still need to do my New York one. Anyway here are all of the things I bought and apologies for bad lighting/picture quality because I took this picture about fifteen minutes ago and it's pretty late at night here.
1. Tartan/check shift dress
I have to admit this dress looks really ugly when it's not on and not styled correctly but I have big plans for this gem. I'm doing a punk fashion look book post for A/W 2013 soon and I am planning on wearing this with a leather jacket and some big black boots. Be prepared.
2. Geometric mesh and blue bodycon dress
I love the colour of this dress and the white mesh cut outs. Bodycon dresses are probably my favourite because I'm curvy and they are the most flattering. The sweet heart neckline is pretty too.
3. Electric candle tea lights
You can't really see these in the picture but I think they are so cool. I cannot manage a real candle for the life of me and I saw these in a really old MacBarbie07 video. I thought they were so cool because they look like tea light candles from a distance but they are actually electric lights which flicker to look like candles. I know this is a bit weird but I got so inspired when I saw them and I think they would look really pretty on a glass tray or something in my bedroom.
4. Turquoise high waisted denim shorts
These shorts are fairly tight on but they are so comfy and I love the colour. Simple, but I bought them for the equivalent of around £5 so bargain!
5. Yellow coin/card purse
I just fell in love with this little purse when I saw it and I thought it would be perfect for keeping change in. It is a beautiful yellow colour and it also has a little card slot in the front.
