HYPER JAPAN 2014

A couple of weeks ago, I went to a festival called Hyper Japan which is basically a giant celebration of Japanese culture. There was amazing food, kawaii & harajuku fashion, lots of cosplayers, video games and so much manga. It was amazing.

Above is Emily and I signing up to Karaoke (aka our death wish). It was actually surprisingly fun screaming My Chemical Romance across the exhibition hall. And luckily for you, there is footage of this in my vlog at the end of the post.

An actual Japanese person came up to me and said my outfit was 'so kawaii', so I basically win at life.

Me chillin with Luffy from One Piece. The cat I'm holding is from one of my all time favourite animes, Fairy Tail. He is the best character ever. My T-shirt has the Attack on Titan Logo too. ALL THE ANIMES.

Making Origami cranes and winning at a new Naruto video game.

And finally, here is my vlog from the day (watch above or click HERE). I found these amazing shiny skirts (shown in the video) but I couldn't bring myself to spend £25 on one, so I'm thinking of doing a DIY? Let me know if that's something you'd like to see!

Totoro tights

Happy Easter everyone! I have a super kawaii outfit for you today featuring these INCREDIBLE Totoro tights from my wonderful friend Izzy. She gave them to me as a late birthday present along with a Totoro phone case and I nearly cried. As you may remember, I have the bear versions of these tights which I styled ages ago HERE. If you aren't familiar with the anime film My Neighbor Totoro, first where was your childhood and second there are some gifs and pictures from tumblr below to help (yes I put a leaf on my head deal with it). At first I was so annoyed at the rain because I couldn't take any decent pictures but then I remembered the iconic scene in the movie with the leaf and black umbrella so it worked out quite well. I even did kawaii inspired makeup and hair and I'm thinking about doing a tutorial on my youtube soon.

Off the shoulder tee - Monsoon

Can you bear it?

Do you see what I did there with the title (bear tights 'bear it'? No? ok never mind ^_^). These photos were taken a week or so ago when Pascale and I went to the Club to Catwalk exhibition at the V&A, tried to go to the cinema twice but failed, and ended up very sarcastically going on what is most likely the world's smallest ice rink. It was also not real ice and probably what you would find in my kitchen, but with a bit of water on it. It was still so much fun, and we could not stop laughing as we attempted to skate whilst drinking hot chocolate. The exhibition was really cool, but I wasn't allowed to take pictures (I took some sneaky ones shhh but I won't post them in case a museum person stumbles across my blog). I really like these photos because they have a sort of blue/purple haze to them which is really pretty.

I wore my new AMAZING bear tights which I love dearly. My jacket was actually my brothers when he was younger but I have inherited it and I have been wearing it so much lately. It's nicely oversized and it's brown leather material with a cosy lining. The cardigan underneath was simply to keep me warm (because now that Christmas is over I keep forgetting that it's still winter). I opted for a pink gingham button up shirt with a black skirt to really go with the kawaii/anime character/kaichou wa maid-sama theme.

I've been listening to HAIM's days are gone album lately and I LOVE it! The wonderful Mattie introduced me to them and I now have the biggest girl crushes. Some of my favourite songs from the album include 'The wire', 'Don't save me' and 'Go slow'.
much love
